27 Weeks, Inside

If you needed further proof that Daphne rocks...

...check this out! If you know me well (or have ever set foot in my house), you know that I can't get enough of the Eiffel Tower. Daphne sewed this for baby Evie. She'll love it, of course!

26 Weeks

Here I am at 26 weeks (technically, 25 weeks, 5 days, but who's counting?)

I'm very glad that I had a good weekend, because things took an interesting turn within days of this picture being taken. Kyle had to leave work early on Tuesday because he was feeling feverish. By the end of the day, his temperature was up to 104, so I called Shelby to bring him to our local Urgent Care. He tested negative for strep and flu, so the doctor sent him home with a Z-pack and orders for bedrest. The next morning, he felt worse, so I made him an appointment with an Ochsner doctor. It turns out that he actually did have strep. I was just happy that it wasn't meningitis, which was my biggest fear.

Kyle stayed home for about a week, and it was pretty rough. My OB advised that I stay in a different house, but I just couldn't leave him. My compromise was to sleep on the couch, which I did for 4 nights. Let me tell you - sleeping on a couch at 6.5 months pregnant is no fun! Still, I'm happy to report that he's doing much better, and that I did not get sick. God is good!

Nursery Progress

Here are some of the homemade nursery decorations I've been working on for Evie. First, her painted letters - I'll be hanging those above her changing table. Also, I got the idea from Etsy to make a bow holder, and what could be cuter than bees?

25 weeks, On the Inside

25 Weeks

Here I am at 25 weeks pregnant. My belly button went from innie, to flat, to outie.

Also, here's a great picture of Kyle and I at the church's 25 anniversary Sunday. We love you, Evie!

24 Weeks, From the Inside

Here's a look at what is going on in my belly this week. Yes, that photo is a real shot of a 24 weeker, in utero. Amazing what technology can do!

Bouncing Baby

I figured out one of Evie's favorite foods! I picked up a big bundle of red grapes the last time I went to the grocery store, and within 10 minutes of eating them, Evie was going bonkers in my belly. It lasted about 30 minutes, and I loved every second. I hope she loves fruit this much when she starts eating big girl food.

A Little Early, but I Couldn't Resist...

Yes, I know it's only June.

Yes, I know that Evie hasn't even arrived yet.

Yes, I know that I keep saying that I'll stop shopping for baby clothes...

but I just couldn't resist the price and cuteness. Evie will be a giraffe for Halloween this year!

23 Week Baby Appt

Today, I met Mary Byers, a nurse midwife at Ochsner. (Dr. Hamilton is currently on vacation at Disney World.) The check-up went well. My weight is finally starting to pick up the way the doctor wants - it was 130 today. I talked to the nurse about the lingering concerns I had after my trip to L&D last week, and she did a cervical check in order to try to set my mind at ease. She reassured me that I'm still not dilated, and that my cervix was still firm, in her opinion. THANK GOD! I've been so concerned that Evie was on her way, since the contractions haven't gotten much better lately. Nurse Byers explained that the aches and pains tend to get worse with every pregnancy, and that I might be one of the unlucky women who suffer from intense discomfort for the rest of my pregnancy. Oh well. I will gladly suffer through any amount of discomfort as long as Evie gets here, and she's healthy and happy.
