29 Weeks on the Inside

Owww!

Evie is such a stubborn girl, and sometimes I think she gets a kick out of giving me a hard time. This is a view of what she was doing to my belly all day at work yesterday. She completely balled herself up on the right side of my body. Not only was it incredibly uncomfortable - it also made me look like an alien.

Kyle's 24th Birthday

Kyle celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, July 10th. It was fairly laidback, and truthfully, I could tell that Kyle was really bothered by the fact that he was celebrating his birthday without Nile. May God and time heal.

Ray's Run 2011

As a result of Nile's SIDS death, I've made friends with a several families who share our unfortunate experience. One young lady I've met is Erin L., the mother of sweet baby Ray. Ray passed away at his daycare facility at 4 months old, also of SIDS. Erin and her husband Adam have done something that I admire them for tremendously. They started an awareness and fundraising campaign in honor of Ray and the other children like him. PLEASE visit their website. www.raysrun.org. As part of the run, Erin asked if I could share 4 photos of Nile, which she would use to line the path of the run. Here are 3 of the 4 (mom has one at her house), as well as a surprise menu with an item in Nile's namesake. It meant the world to me. I can't thank you enough, Erin!

Sarah and Brian's Wedding Festivities

Our dear friends Sarah Lyle and Brian Schulz tied the knot of July 9, 2011. The wedding festivities took the whole weekend, but they were a blast. We are so happy for them and we wish them a lifetime of joy together....and babies would be nice too, so Evie can have a playmate. Just joking...okay, not really joking ;)

(The pictures are of me in my 28th week. Also a photo of Sarah and Brian cutting their cake and Angie and Joyce admiring my baby bump.)

4th of July

Here I am on the 4th of July, at 28 w, 1 d. There's also a picture of Kyle and me.

We both had the day off of work, which was nice. We spent the morning/early afternoon with my parents. The BBQ was yummy, but it must have aggravated my stomach. (I've noticed that my morning sickness has come back sporadically in the last few weeks.) During the afternoon, we decided to stay home and hang out with our buddy, Tyler. Fun times.

The day was a little bittersweet because I kept remembering the way we celebrated the 4th of July last year. It was Nile's baby dedication at church. Aunt Lauren and Sandra came into town for it, which made it extra special. I just miss him so much. Still, I really try not to let the sadness overwhelm my excitement about the new pregnancy.

27 Weeks

Here's a picture of me at 27 weeks. Unfortunately, because I'm bad about only updating my blog every few weeks, I've now forgotten what was happening in my life at this time. I guess a mere picture will have to do...

27 Weeks, Inside

If you needed further proof that Daphne rocks...

...check this out! If you know me well (or have ever set foot in my house), you know that I can't get enough of the Eiffel Tower. Daphne sewed this for baby Evie. She'll love it, of course!
