When Evie was about 7 weeks old, we followed a tradition we started with Nile and threw her a zero-th birthday bash. It's really just a great excuse to throw a party and let everyone hang out. Looking back, I can't tell you how glad I am that we got to have that birthday experience with Nile. We even used the same "0" candle on her cupcakes. It was a very happy night, but I got emotional during the Happy Birthday song. I try to steel myself against negative thoughts, but I couldn't help but wonder if Evie would ever have a real birthday.
